Job summary
We are seeking a motivated Graduate Software Developer to join our technology team. This opportunity is suitable for a graduate or junior developer looking to build practical experience while contributing to real software-development projects.
Working with experienced developers and cross-functional teams, you will help design, develop, test and maintain reliable software applications. You will receive guidance and mentoring while developing your skills in programming, databases, APIs, cloud platforms and modern development practices.
Responsibilities
- Assist with designing, developing, testing and deploying software applications.
- Write clean, maintainable and documented code using languages such as JavaScript, Java, C#, Python, C++ or similar technologies.
- Support the development of responsive and user-friendly front-end interfaces.
- Write SQL queries and work with databases such as MySQL or SQL Server.
- Use Git and GitHub to manage source code and collaborate with other developers.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging and performance improvement.
- Investigate technical issues and implement solutions under appropriate supervision.
- Prepare technical documentation and provide progress updates to project teams.
- Follow software-development, information-security and data-protection standards.
- Take part in training and continuous professional development.
Requirements
- Foundational programming knowledge in at least one language, such as JavaScript, Java, C#, Python or C++.
- Basic understanding of software-development principles, algorithms and data structures.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and front-end development concepts.
- Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL.
- An understanding of APIs, version control and software-testing principles.
- Awareness of Git, GitHub, AWS, Azure or Linux would be advantageous.
- Academic, internship, personal or portfolio projects demonstrating programming ability are desirable.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to learn new technologies and work effectively within a remote team.
- Good organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to manage assigned tasks and meet deadlines.
Previous commercial software-development experience is not essential. We welcome applicants who demonstrate strong technical foundations, enthusiasm for software engineering and a commitment to continuous learning.
